BetweenGlassBlinds Marketing Manager Erika Poole was part of another impressive team this past weekend as she represented Team UK at the OCR European Championships in Val di Fiemme, Italy.

OCR (Obstacle Course Racing) is a combination of cross country running, hanging obstacles like monkey bars and mixed grip holds, heavy carries (atlas stones, sandbags, etc), high walls to climb and army style crawls. The sport will be introduced into the Olympics in 2028 as part of the Modern Pentathlon.

Erika competed in both the 3k Short Course that consists of 25 technical obstacles, as well as the gruelling 15k Standard Course, where the first 6 kilometres involve running straight up a mountain ski slope, along with 55 obstacles.

Competing in her first ever international championships, she exceeded expectations by coming in 6th place in her Age Division on the Short Course, and 14th place on the Standard Course, beating athletes from countries such as Sweden, Denmark, Italy, Poland and Hungary.

The Team at BGB is proud of her accomplishments and wishes her the best of luck as she starts Team UK training for the OCR World Championships in the USA in September.
