For February’s Vision Fund,  BGB chose to support Ataxia UK and bring attention to Rare Disease Day.

‘Ataxia’ is an umbrella term for a group of neurological disorders that affect balance, coordination and speech. It  disrupts the communication between the brain and the body; the cerebellum and our muscles. There are many different types of ataxia that affect people in different ways. With only 10,000 people in the UK who are diagnosed, ataxia is a rare condition.

Rare Disease Day is an observance held on 28th February to raise awareness for rare diseases and improve access to treatment and medical representation.
